FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an apparatus and process for producing dimethyl ether. Separation processing method for product stream (g), comprising at least dimethyl ether, methanol, water, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and hydrogen, from reactor (4), which is used for synthesis of dimethyl ether (z) from synthesis gas (e). Product stream (g) is supplied, at least partially in the gas form, to liquid reflux-operated absorption column (6), wherein gaseous top stream (m) is removed from absorption column (6) at the top end, and liquid bottom stream (p) is removed at the bottom end of the absorption column. Bottom stream (p) is fed at least partially into first distillation column (5), wherein a gaseous transfer stream (q) containing dimethyl ether, and stream (r) predominantly containing methanol and/or water are removed from first distillation column (5). Top stream (m) is at least partially first cooled to a first temperature level and subsequently further cooled to one or more additional temperature levels, wherein first condensate stream (n) is formed after cooling to the first temperature level, and one or more additional condensate streams (s, t) are formed after the further cooling to the additional temperature levels. First condensate stream (n) is partially used to form the liquid reflux, and the additional condensate streams (s, t) are partially fed into additional distillation column (9), from which liquid stream (z) is removed at the bottom end, said liquid stream substantially containing dimethyl ether and having little or no carbon dioxide.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain dimethyl ether from a synthesis gas stream.
