METHOD OF LASER TREATMENT OF MACULAR EDEMA WHICH OCCURS AFTER SURGERY FOR REMOVAL OF LENS Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61F9/08

Abstract RU 2668707 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, namely, ophthalmology, and can be used to treat macular edema which occurs after surgery for the removal of the lens. Determine the localization of edema from optical coherence tomography (OCT) and the area of dye transudation from fluorescent angiography (FAG) data. Laser action is performed in the microimpulse mode in a selective range of energy parameters throughout the entire zone of edema and transudation, applying laser applications at a distance of one diameter of the applicator from each other. Outside the foveal avascular zone, the effect is performed with parameters: wavelength of the yellow spectrum, the duration of the micropulse is 50–100 mcs, the duty cycle is 0.5–4.7 %, the power is 0.5–2.0 W, the spot diameter is 50–150 mcm, number of pulses in the packet 1–20. In the foveal avascular zone, the effect is performed with parameters: wavelength of the yellow spectrum, the duration of the micropulse is 50–80 mcs, the duty cycle is 0.5–2.5 %, the power is 0.8–2.0 W, the spot diameter is 80–130 mcm, the amount pulses in the packet 1–10.

EFFECT: invention provides a reduction in the thickness of the retina, the disappearance of cysts, the restoration of retinal architectonics by OCT, a decrease in transudation according to FAG data, a reduction in the unreasonable prolonged use of medications, decrease in the risk of formation of epiretinal fibrosis and refractory macular edema, the risk of irreversible reduction of visual functions, the lack of livestock, areas with reduced photosensitivity, chorioretinal atrophy focus in the zones of laser treatment due to a high degree of absorption by the pigment epithelium of the yellow spectrum of laser radiation.
