METHOD FOR PRODUCING SKELETON NICKEL CATALYST FOR HYDROGENIZING UNSATURATED ORGANIC COMPOUNDS Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC B01J37/18 B01J37/08 B01J25/02

Abstract RU 2669201 C1

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the chemical industry, namely to processes for the preparation of a skeleton nickel catalyst for use in the reduction reactions of the main classes of industrially important organic compounds with hydrogen gas. Method consists in taking a nickel-aluminum alloy in powder form with an average particle radius of 2÷100 mcm, treated with alkali metal hydroxide on a boiling bath, wash the catalyst from alkali with distilled water to a neutral washing water medium (pH=7.0). In the process, a preliminary heat treatment of the nickel-aluminum alloy in a hydrogen stream (vstream=30 cm3/min) is carried out at a temperature of 470÷570 °C for 5÷15 minutes, heating rates from 25 °C to 450÷470 °C, 3.2÷10 °C/min, then the alloy is placed under a layer of water, put on an ice bath (t=0 °C) an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide (w=25 % by weight) is added until the concentration of the latter is 3.7÷13.3 % by weight, the catalyst is held in an ice bath for 1 hour, next, the alkali solution is separated by decanting and changed to a fresh aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide (w=25 % by weight), put in a boiling water bath (t=100 °C) and hold 1÷2 hours.

EFFECT: increased activity and catalyst stability to the processes of deactivation and oxidation of active surface centers during operation, reduced total time and waste of catalyst synthesis.
