FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for cross-linking an elastomeric composition in the presence of atmospheric oxygen. Method comprises mixing an elastomer comprising an ethylene-propylene terpolymer with a non-elastomeric copolymer comprising two different monomers in a polymerised form in a weight ratio of the elastomer to non-elastomeric copolymer of from 50:50 to 75:25 and with an organic peroxide composition. Organic peroxide composition contains organic peroxide, additional compounds selected from bis-, tri- and higher polymaleimides, bis-, tri- and higher polycitraconimides. Composition contains a sulphur-containing accelerator. Composition is vulcanised in the presence of atmospheric oxygen.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to reduce or eliminate the tackiness of the surface of the elastomeric composition.
