FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a power transmission belt for a continuously variable transmission, and more particularly to a variator belt. Endless rubber drive belt having a main belt body with a compression portion, a stretch portion, the adhesive portion and the tensile cord in contact with the adhesive portion and the inclined sides built-in between the compression portion and the stretching portion. At least one of the compression portion, the stretch portion and the adhesive portion has an elastomeric composition that includes a saturated ethylene-alpha-olefin elastomer, a staple fiber and a fibrillated fiber. Ratio of width to thickness is on the order of 2 to 3. In another embodiment, the belt comprises an elastomer, a high modulus staple fiber, and a high modulus fibrillated fiber. In this case, the fibrillated fiber is less than 40 % of the total amount of high modulus fiber.
EFFECT: reduced slippage is achieved.
