FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: toothed V-belt with a raw edge comprises a tooth at least on the side of the inner peripheral surface and a rubber compression layer on the side of the inner peripheral surface. Rubber compression layer comprises a main body of the rubber compression layer and an inner surface layer covering the inner peripheral surface of the main body of the rubber compression layer, coefficient of friction of the surface of said inner surface layer is higher than that of the main body of the rubber compression layer which not coated by inner surface layer. Also disclosed is a belt drive system comprising such a belt, and a method of using a toothed V-belt with a raw edge.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of engine braking when using belt.
