FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to frictional vibration dampers for trolleys of railway vehicles. Trolley contains side frames, a bolster, a set of springs and a friction wedge. Lower face of the friction wedge rests on a set of springs, on the inclined face of the wedge the truck bolster is supported, and the vertical face is pressed against the vertical wall of the side frame. Friction pads are installed on the vertical and inclined faces. When the wedge moves downward, a damping force of between 7,500 and 16,250 pounds is provided at a wedge speed of 0 to 19 inches per second. When the wedge moves upwards, a damping force of between 700 and 10,000 pounds is provided at a wedge speed of 0 to 19 inches per second.
EFFECT: improved damping of wagon oscillations.
