SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for intranasal administration in the form of a spray, containing 0.1–5.0 % by weight of the succinic acid salt of 2-ethyl-6-methyl-3-hydroxypyridine and water as a solvent. Composition further comprises, as an auxiliary substance, a stabilizer selected from the group consisting of Trilon B and sodium metabisulfite. Composition is prepared in the form of an aqueous solution having a pH of 4–6.5. Intranasal spray of succinic acid salt of 2-ethyl-6-methyl-3-hydroxypyridine provides greater efficacy of this active substance than its injectable administration in the same dose.
EFFECT: invention provides a multiple reduction in effective doses of the succinic acid salt of 2-ethyl-6-methyl-3-hydroxypyridine while improving therapeutic efficacy compared with injections.
