FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing hydrocarbon products, comprising: a) providing a C4 hydrocarbon stream (C4) comprising at least 80 wt. % of branched and unbranched hydrocarbons, each containing four carbon atoms, and b) recovering an n-C4 partial stream (n-C4), which contains at least 80 wt. % of unbranched hydrocarbons with four carbon atoms, and an iso-C4 partial stream (i-C4), which preferably contains branched hydrocarbons with four carbon atoms, from the C4 hydrocarbon stream (C4) or the stream obtained therefrom. Method is characterised by c) performing steam cracking of at least a portion of the n-C4 partial stream (n-C4) or the stream obtained from therefrom, with cracking intensity where at least 50 % and not more than 92 % of the n-butane contained therein is converted.
EFFECT: use of the proposed method makes it possible to better control the conversion of the unbranched hydrocarbon stream during steam cracking.
