FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power engineering. Method for carrying out combustion in a furnace equipped with thermochemical regenerators with a combustion port through which the heated synthetic gas can enter the furnace, one or more oxidant openings through which an oxidant can be introduced into the furnace, and an outlet, which is connected to the furnace and through which the combustion gases can escape from the furnace, includes: flowing of the heated synthetic gas through the combustion opening to the furnace with a pulse F and at a velocity of less than 15,24 meters per second (50 feet per second); introduction of at least one propellant gas stream with a momentum M, having a velocity of at least 30,48 meters per second (100 feet per second), into a combustion opening for supplying the said synthesis gas to the propellant gas stream and for discharging the resulting combined stream into the furnace; introduction of one or more oxidant streams with a common O pulse through said one or more oxidant openings into the furnace, while the axis of each oxidant stream is located at a distance of 7,62 centimeters to 76,2 centimeters (3 inches to 30 inches) from the internal perimeter of the combustion opening, and mixing of the introduced oxidant with the fuel stream that is supplied to the propellant gas stream to form a visible flame passing into the furnace without touching the walls and the dome of the furnace; release of gaseous combustion products from the furnace through the outlet with a pulse of X, with the total momentum F + M + O being more than 150 % of X momentum.
EFFECT: invention allows to reduce NOx emissions, reduce peak flame temperatures.
