FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power engineering. Tower-shaped evaporative cooling tower contains an exhaust tower with air inlet windows at its base, a catchment basin, air guide boards, along with the water distribution system and irrigation device located around the tower on a ring base and covered with a roof on top. Water distribution system is made in the form of an annular pipe with nozzles on which water sprinklers are installed. Air deflectors are located inside the tower in a circle at an angle to the radius of the tower base, and the irrigation device is made in the form of flat sheets located along the radius of the tower base and inclined at an angle to the horizon.
EFFECT: invention allows to evenly distribute the flow of external air in the heat exchange area and increase the speed of the vertical air flow inside the tower.
