SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an aerosol generating system for delivering the aerosol to a user comprising an aerosol generating device and an aerosol generating article, and in particular to such a system for delivering nicotine to a user. Said aerosol generating system comprises an aerosol generating device in cooperation with an aerosol generating article; wherein the aerosol generating article comprises at least one container accommodating a source of nicotine; and at least two seals sealing at least one container, wherein each seal comprises a deformable material; the device generating the aerosol comprises an outer casing which is designed with possibility to house an aerosol generating article; and an elongated piercing element for piercing at least two seals sealing at least one container, wherein the elongated piercing element comprises a piercing head portion at the distal end of the elongated piercing element; and a hollow portion of the rod, comprising at least two holes; wherein when the aerosol generating article is housed in the aerosol generating device, at least one opening is in fluid communication with the at least one container.

EFFECT: technical result of the invention is the provision of an improved aerosol generating system.
