FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mechanical engineering and can be used in bench grinders having a tool rest. Said tool rest is mounted on a bracket and is located adjacent to the grinding wheel of the grinder. Said tool rest has a tool rest platform, which is connected to the bracket by means of a pivot connection with the possibility of fastening in various angular positions by means of a bolt. Said bracket’s end to which the platform is attached has a section with a cylindrical surface marked with angle marks. In the platform of the tool rest, an opening is made through which the surface of the angle marked surface is visible. And the indicator line on the tool rest platform is aligned with the angle mark to indicate the angle of the platform.
EFFECT: as a result, a simple and reliable adjustment of the angle of the tool rest is possible when sharpening various tools at a given angle.
