SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a handheld striking tool. Said striking tool comprises a handle having a first end and a second end, a tool head having a channel and a vibration reduction mechanism. Said vibration reduction mechanism is located at the first end of the handle. Said vibration reduction mechanism is located between the handle and the head of the tool. Said vibration reduction mechanism includes a collar connected to the handle, a cup located over the collar, a retainer attached to the handle, cup and collar. And the engagement of the retainer with both the handle and the collar forms a gap separating the retainer from both the handle and the collar. This gap is filled with the material of the cup.

EFFECT: result is reduced vibration.
