FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to high-strength thermoplastic elastomeric films, having improved tensile strength and elastic properties. Thermoplastic elastomeric film comprises a polyolefin-based thermoplastic elastomer, a styrene block-copolymer and a strength enhancing agent. Polyolefin-based thermoplastic elastomer includes homopolymer or copolymer of α-olefin with 2–12 carbon atoms. Styrene block-copolymer is selected from the group consisting of styrene-ethylene-propylene-styrene (SEPS), styrene-ethylene-propylene-styrene-ethylene-propylene (SEPSEP), styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene (SEBS), styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene-ethylene-butylene (SEBSEB), styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS), styrene-isoprene-styrene (SIS), styrene-isoprene-butadiene-styrene (SIBS), styrene-ethylene-ethylene-propylene-styrene (SEEPS), hydrogenated vinyl polyisoprene / hydrogenated polyisoprene / polystyrene and combinations thereof, and the strength enhancing agent contains inorganic clay. Film contains more than 50 % by weight of polyolefin-based thermoplastic elastomers, from 15 % by weight to 40 % by weight of a styrene block-copolymer, and from 3 % to 8 % by weight of a strength enhancing agent. Said films preferably do not contain filler particles, such as calcium carbonate. Method for increasing the strength of a thermoplastic elastomeric film is described.
EFFECT: technical result is providing films with high elasticity and tensile strength while maintaining low stress at 150 % elongation and low hysteresis loss and percentage of permanent deformation.
