FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technique of roasting building materials in rotary kilns in the industry, as well as in ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy and can be used in oxidizing roasting of vanadium-containing materials. Chain curtain of a rotary kiln is proposed, containing an additional section of chains fixed at one end to non-rotating structures of the end part of the kiln in the form of rows, located parallel to the axis of rotation of the furnace and offset from the axis down vertically by 0.3–0.8 and in opposite directions horizontally by 0.15–0.5 of the radius of the furnace. Number of rows of the additional section of the curtain is 2-3 with the interval between the attachment points of the chains in the row 100–200 mm, and the length of the chains by 1–3 links exceeds the distance from the attachment point to the inner surface of the furnace, with the last link provided with a weight element.
EFFECT: result is an increase in the quality of the calcined product, a decrease in dust removal and an increase in the kiln efficiency.
