SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless cellular communications and describes systems and methods for radio frequency (RF) calibration in a multi-antenna system (MAS) with multi-user (MU) transmissions (MU-MAS), in which the principle of reciprocity between uplink and downlink is applied. RF calibration is used to calculate pre-coding parameters for an open-loop downlink based on uplink estimates, which allows to reduce the cost of feedback in the transmission of information about the state of the channel, as in schemes with feedback. For example, the MU-MAS system in one design contains a wireless cellular network with one or multiple radio beacons, multiple client devices, and many distributed antennas working together, using pre-coding techniques to eliminate interference between clients and increase network bandwidth.

EFFECT: systems and methods for radio frequency calibration are proposed using the principle of reciprocity of channels in wireless communication with a distributed input-distributed output.
