Abstract RU 2674811 C2

FIELD: electrical communication engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a replacement element for a host device. In response to determining that a particular authentication value indicated by an identifier in the request has been sent earlier, a specific authentication value is sent to the host device. In response to determining that the specific authentication value indicated by the identifier in the request has not previously been sent, it is determined whether the replacement item has previously sent the maximum number of unique authentication values from the authentication values, and the maximum number of unique authentication values is less than the total number of authentication values. In response to the determination that the maximum number of unique authentication values has not been sent, the specific authentication value indicated by the identifier in the request is sent to the host device. In response to determining that the maximum number of unique authentication values has been sent, they refuse to send the specific authentication value indicated by the identifier in the request to the host device.

EFFECT: technical result is to reduce the likelihood of using replacement parts not approved by the manufacturer.
