SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the design of a hand drill, intended for the formation of holes in the ground, in particular, when installing pillars, fences, when installing piles for foundations, when planting bushes and trees, when taking soil samples, when over-drafting groundwater by deep pumps, when forming horizontal and inclined wells for communications, pipelines, cables. Hand drill contains a hollow tubular rod with end notches in the lower part and a double hole in the upper part for the interchangeable handle and a cutting unit made in the form of a replaceable conical insert, on which the cutting units-discs are formed to the outer side with equal pitch. From the outside an auger of variable pitch is mounted on a cylindrical tube. Pipe is made with a system of holes between the auger.

EFFECT: technical result is to increase productivity and ease of use for hand drilling of wells, including a depth greater than the length of the rod.
