SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device and a method for controlling a surgical table. Device and method for controlling a surgical table having components configured to change its position using controls. Surgical table has drive units with which the position of the first component and the second component can vary with respect to each other and with respect to the third component. Control unit for controlling the drive units stores the first position of the first component and the second component relative to each other and relative to the third component. When the first control is activated, the drive units are controlled so that the component moves to the stored first position. In the control unit, one control parameter is stored as pre-set, and wherein the control unit controls the drive units to move components from one second position different from the stored first position to the stored first position, depending on the stored control parameter.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at improving the safety of using the table.
