SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a feeding system and device that allow a pet owner to remotely monitor and feed the pet. System comprises a portable sensor that receives measurements related to the health of the pet, and a feeding device to which the sensor is connected. Feeding device receives measurements from the sensor and comprises a scale, a container and a dispenser that dispenses pet food from the container into a bowl connected to the scale. Feeding device generates feed consumption data and is further configured to connect to the Internet. Feeding system also includes a database located remotely relative to the feeding device. Feeding device transmits measurements and data on feed consumption to the database via an Internet connection. Database is designed to analyse the measurement and data on feed consumption using the information stored in the database, which is selected from the group consisting of scientific information, previously collected data on the pet, previously collected data on other pets of the same type of pet, and combinations thereof. Database is configured to automatically transmit a message to the feeding device based on the results of the analysis. Message contains a command indicating the amount of pet food dispensed by the feeding device. Measurement is selected from the group consisting of the distance traveled by the pet over a period of time, the body temperature of the pet measured in real time, blood pressure of the pet measured in real time, heart rate of the pet measured in real time, and combinations thereof.
