The composition for consumption by animals contains a poultry liver hydrolysate in an amount improving the taste and at least one ingredient chosen from the proteins, fats, carbohydrates, fibres and their combinations; the poultry liver hydrolysate quantity accounts for nearly 0.01% - nearly 6% of the composition weight. The method for improvement of the taste of the composition for consumption by an animal envisages introduction of a poultry liver hydrolysate, in an amount improving the taste, into the said composition.

EFFECT: invention implementation ensures improvement of the taste of a composition for consumption by animals.
