FIELD: vehicles.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to all-terrain vehicle propulsion. Caterpillar is one or more parallel cylindrical inflatable shells, to which a flexible tape or a row of overlapping plate tracks is attached outside. Cylindrical shell enclosed laterally by inflatable balloons of a flexible enclosure, able to wrinkle in areas of bending of the caterpillar and voluminous enough to create vertical areas of high pressure around it, keeping the caterpillar from sliding sideways, provides lateral stability. Belt attached to it or a set of track plates pressed to each other by the earth surface does not allow the cylindrical shell to rotate around its axis and provides support for the horizontal high-pressure area that receives the weight of the vehicle.
EFFECT: increase in speed, efficiency and throughput is achieved.
