FIELD: instrument engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a plant for the synthesis of urea. Apparatus comprises a synthesis section comprising at least one reactor, compressor for supplying CO2 to the indicated synthesis section, a gas turbine to actuate said CO2-compressor and heat recovery steam generator. Heat source of the specified heat recovery steam generator is represented by the exhaust gases of the gas turbine, and at least one steam stream obtained in the recovery steam generator is used as a heat source for at least one element of the plant for the synthesis of urea. Method for upgrading the plant for the synthesis of urea from ammonia and CO2 is also proposed.

EFFECT: invention reduces the power consumption of the compressor and optimizes the process integration and the corresponding steam system.
