FIELD: control systems.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to vehicle control systems. System includes an electrode located across the entire display touchscreen and a signal generator that generates an oscillating signal to create a potential difference between a finger and an electrode, resulting in a corresponding perceived texture as you move your finger across the touch screen. Control circuit is configured to control at least the frequency or amplitude of the oscillating signal to change the perceived texture in accordance with the first and second modes when working with a graphical human-machine interface. In the first mode, a local texture map is used, defined by the respective areas for selecting function icons on the touchscreen display. Second mode uses a status texture map, which defines the perceived texture for each possible adjustable setting for the function icon that has been selected for use in the first mode.
EFFECT: increase the accuracy of data entry.
