FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of surface hardening of aluminum alloys by electroexplosive spraying, in particular to surface hardening of silumin by the system Y2O3-Al, and can be used when applying the proposed method of coatings on parts and products subject to wear. Method includes an electric explosion of a composite electrically explosive conductor consisting of a two-layer flat aluminum shell with a mass of 60–150 mg and a core in the form of yttrium oxide powder with a mass of 0.5–2.0 mass of the shell, the formation of a pulse multiphase plasma jet from the explosion products, the fusion of silumin by it at an absorbed power density of 4.5–5.0 GW/m2, deposition on the surface of the explosion products and the formation on it of Y2O3-Al composite coating system.
EFFECT: resulting coatings have high wear resistance and microhardness.
