SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for the purification of an acrylic acid derivative represented by the formula (I), wherein R1 and R2 are the same or different, and each denotes alkyl, fluoroalkyl, aryl, which may have one or more substituents, a halogen atom or a hydrogen atom, R3 denotes alkyl, fluoroalkyl, aryl, which may have one or more substituents, or a hydrogen atom, and X denotes alkyl, fluoroalkyl, a halogen atom or a hydrogen atom, the method including stage A of reacting a composition comprising an acrylic acid derivative represented by the formula (I) and an alcohol represented by the formula (II) R4-OH, where R4 means alkyl, fluoroalkyl or aryl, which may have one or more substituents, with an acid anhydride, converting the alcohol to an ester compound, which has a boiling point higher than that of the acrylic acid derivative.

EFFECT: object of the present invention is to provide a method for effectively purifying an acrylic acid derivative (I), more specifically a method for effectively removing alcohol from a composition comprising an acrylic acid derivative (I) and an alcohol.
