FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a measuring technique and can be used for contactless measurement of linear velocity on the surface or inside moving macro-objects. Device for contactless measurement of linear velocity on the surface or inside moving micro-objects is made on the basis of a Sagnac fiber interferometer with 1–3 composite windings of optical fiber. Components of the desired speed are determined by signals proportional to the phase difference in each winding. Phase difference in the windings is created by a combination of pieces of fibers with different refractive indices. To minimize scattering and back reflection at the joints of the segments, anti-reflection and / or immersion layers of transparent materials are used. To eliminate the effect of rotation of the device on the readings, winding with a pair of optical fibers is used and, if necessary, a correction is applied to the signal from the angular velocity sensor.

EFFECT: increasing the convenience and reliability of speed measurement, as well as expanding the macroobject areas of the surrounding space available for measuring speed.
