FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for treating the surface of a titanium nickelide alloy. Surface of the titanium nickelide alloy is scanned by a laser beam with a beam power density of 1.5–0.5⋅107 W/mm2, the average laser irradiation power is 0.48–56.2 W, with a pulse frequency of 10–200 kHz and a scanning speed of a laser beam of 100–2,000 mm/s. For processing an equiatomic alloy nickel-titanium is used, which has shape memory. Treatment is carried out in air atmosphere using an ytterbium laser.

EFFECT: as a result, a corrosion-resistant coating is obtained by reducing or completely eliminating nickel in the composition of the surface layer.
