FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry, in particular to chemical indicators on solid-phase silica carriers, and can be used for the rapid determination of the maximum allowable and dangerous concentrations of 1,1-dimethylhydrazine in the air. Indicator tube consists of transparent tube filled with powdered filler with indicator sorbed on it, as filler contains silica with a particle size of 60÷500 mcm, as an indicator – potassium tetrahydro-12-molybdosilicate.
EFFECT: it is possible to determine concentration of DMH in the air at the level of MPC with greater accuracy according to calibration curve, no further heating is required for chromogenic reaction, deeper color shift of test reaction takes place, false negative result is excluded when in contact with organic amines, ammonia and alkaline media.
