SUBSTANCE: bone anchor for a tongue manipulation device which comprises a tissue anchor for attachment to the tongue, the bone anchor and a tether line which fixes the tissue anchor to the bone anchor. Bone anchor comprises a tether line spool arrangement, which comprises a spool rotatable about a spooling axis and a spooling locking arrangement. Pooling locking arrangement is controlled by rotation about the spooling axis between spooling locking and spooling permitting configurations. Tongue manipulation system includes said bone anchor. Control device for controlling said tongue manipulation system comprises a handle assembly and a needle assembly protruding from the handle assembly toward the distal end in the direction of the spooling axis. Needle assembly comprises an internal control shaft, which ends in the internal drive head at the distal end of the needle assembly and is rotatable by means of the first part of the handle assembly, and an outer control shaft, which ends in the outer drive head and is rotatable independently of the inner control shaft by means of the second part of the handle of the handle assembly. One head of the internal and external drive heads is arranged to control the rotation of the spool of the bone anchor, and the other head of said internal and external drive heads is configured to control the rotation of the spooling locking device of the bone anchor. Control system comprises said tongue manipulation system and said control device. Method of adjusting said tongue manipulation system is carried out using a rotary drive member, which interacts with the bone anchor. Rotary drive member comprises an output shaft consisting of two concentric rotating shafts. Said method includes, if necessary, rotating the first shaft of the rotary drive member to loosen the spooling lock, turning the second shaft of the rotary drive member to wind the tether on the bone anchor, until the loosening of the tether disappears and / or until the proper tension of the tether is achieved to perform tongue manipulation and the first shaft of the rotary drive member is rotated to interact with the spooling lock.
