PATIENT MONITORING SYSTEM AND METHOD Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61B5/11 A61G7/00 G06T7/215

Abstract RU 2679864 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, specifically to patient monitoring. Video analysis subsystem for use in a patient monitoring system for monitoring a patient in a bed comprises: a motion evaluation or detection system for receiving video images (V1, V2) of a patient captured by a video camera; localisation unit for receiving sensor signals (S1, S2, S3) from a set of sensors associated with equipment components located near the bed, for detection of interaction with said equipment components, which is carried out by the patient. Video analysis subsystem is designed to determine and track the position of the patient's body parts from video images (V1, V2) and to use sensor signals (S1, S2, S3) for said determination and tracking of the position of the patient's body parts from video images (V1, V2). Sensors for monitoring motor behaviour of patients are configured to transmit signals on the interaction of the patient with the surrounding objects. Patient monitoring system for monitoring a patient in bed comprises: a video camera for capturing video images (V1, V2) of the patient; a set of sensors associated with equipment components located in the vicinity of the bed, for detecting interaction of the patient with the equipment components in the vicinity of the bed and receiving sensor signals (S1, S2, S3), a video analysis subsystem, configured to receive said captured video images (V1, V2) and said detected sensor signals (S1, S2, S3). Method includes: receiving video images (V1, V2) of a patient captured by a video camera; receiving sensor signals (S1, S2, S3) received from a set of sensors associated with equipment components located in the vicinity of the bed to detect interaction of the patient with said equipment components, and determining and tracking the position of the patient's body parts from video images (V1, V2) using sensor signals (S1, S2, S3) with said specified determination and tracking the position of the patient's body parts from video images (V1, V2). Patient monitoring method for monitoring a patient in bed, comprising: capturing video images (V1, V2) of the patient; detecting patient interaction with equipment components near the bed and receiving sensor signals (S1, S2, S3) using a set of sensors associated with equipment components near the bed; and analysing the video data according to the method of claim 6 based on captured video images (V1, V2) and said detected sensor signals.

EFFECT: computer readable medium containing a computer program with program code means, configured to perform computer steps of the method when executing said computer program on a computer.
