FIELD: control systems; recycling and disposal of waste.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of controlling the position of objects in outer space. Method of moving space debris objects with the gradual use of its substance as a working medium of a jet propulsion by a spacecraft (SC), equipped with a laser propulsion system and a device that provides scanning of the surface of an arbitrary shape. Spacecraft is rigidly fixed on the surface of the space debris object. Using the scanning system, the accessible surface of the space debris is mapped. As a result of the analysis of the obtained map, a working program of surface scanning is created to ensure the maximum value of the projection onto a given axis of the mechanical impulse arising from the laser impact on the surface of a space debris object. In accordance with the created program, an impact is made on the surface by a power laser beam for moving with the gradual destruction of the substance of space debris objects.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is to ensure the processing of space debris by using its substance as the working body of a laser propulsion system.
