FIELD: furniture.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to furniture, namely, to a desk, and is aimed at optimizing the placement of pens in a desk. Desk comprises a furniture base - a frame, and a worktop located on the upper side of the furniture base. Along a longitudinal side of the worktop there is a pen-receiving device with a receiving recess. Pen-receiving device for receiving pens by means of a rotary bearing comprising a rotary bearing device can occupy a use position, as a result of rotation, relative to the furniture base or worktop, in the use position the receiving recess is accessible to the user from above, and a stowed position occupied by the rotation around the axis of rotation, in which the receiving recess is at least partially closed by the element of the desk structure.

EFFECT: desk comprises a braking device for braking the pen-receiving device as it moves from the use position to the stowed position and vice versa and/or for holding the pen-receiving device in the use position or in the stowed position or in both positions.
