FIELD: wireless communication equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the Tunneling Protocol (GTP) of the General Packet Radio Service (GPRS). Method implemented by core network node (200, 300, 400, 500) for generating a tunneling protocol (GTP) message of a common packet radio service (GPRS), at that the GTP message contains a GTP header, followed by at least one IE information element associated with a particular IE type in the set of IE types, and wherein IE contains a plurality of fields where a particular IE type is identified by a value encoded in a field of a given IE type in the first octet of IE, besides the method comprises the steps where: perform reservation (1110) of the IE type extension field in the fourth and fifth octets of IE or in the fifth and sixth octets of IE to ensure the definition of an additional set of new IE types, that is an extension of a specific IE type; and configuring (1120) the reserved IE type extension field to define at least one new IE type in addition to the specified set of IE types.

EFFECT: technical result of the invention is to improve the efficiency of using information elements IEs in GTP messages.
