SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the process testing of metals, namely to the determination of mechanical and plastic properties, as well as plane anisotropy at normal and elevated temperatures. Essence: in a sheet, strip or band of any width, cut a flat billet roll-wise, test it for tension, determine the mechanical and plastic characteristics of the metal, as well as the anisotropy coefficient R0, then cut the billet-circle, mark the direction of rolling and draw a cylindrical cap at normal or elevated temperatures with an draw ratio of k=1.7÷2.0, determine the presence of ears in the cap and their location relative to the direction of rolling. If ears are located along and across the rolling direction, calculate the parameter measure the height of ears located in the rolling direction Δh0 relative to the hollows located at an angle of 45° to the rolling direction, calculate the diameter value solve the equation: , in which the parameter values are known and find the parameter , which determine the anisotropy coefficient . Measure the height of ears Δh90, located across the rolling direction relative to the hollows at an angle of 135° to rolling direction, calculate the diameter value solve this equation in which the parameter is known and find the parameter , as well as anisotropy coefficient . Similarly determine the plane anisotropy, if the ears are angled 45° relative to the rolling direction.

EFFECT: reducing the complexity of determining the anisotropy coefficients in different directions relative to the rolling direction and mechanical properties of the sheet material, regardless of the initial width of the sheet, strip or band at normal and elevated test temperatures.
