FIELD: container and packing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for manufacturing an item of the tray type, comprising at least one wall and a flange attached to the edge of said wall at an angle of more than 45°; this method includes the operations of: ensuring the presence of an unfolded sheet; performing a straight notch line on an unfolded sheet to separate the wall portion from the flange portion and to bend the flange portion relative to the wall portion; bending the flange portion of the unfolded sheet relative to the wall portion along the notch line so that an angle of more than 45° between the flange portion and the wall portion is formed; ensuring the availability of the polymer film; heating the polymer film; pressing the heated film onto the sheet from the side on which the notch line is located, so that the film covers at least part of the wall portion and part of the flange portion; unfolded sheet contains at least one U-shaped notch interrupting the notch line in such a way that the free ends of the U-shaped notch are on the notch line, and the connecting part of the U-shaped notch is located on the flange portion. Object of the invention is also the packaging manufactured using the method according to the present invention.
