FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: in a proposed method, wire (11) provided with teeth (15) passes sequentially through first inductor (16) and second inductor (18). Inductors (16, 18) operate at different frequencies and produce different temperatures. First inductor (16) heats, in particular, base (17), which is not to be hardened, to a high temperature below the austenitization temperature range. Second inductor (18) heats teeth (15) to a still higher temperature, which lies within the austenitization temperature range.
EFFECT: during rapid cooling, hardened teeth of the same high quality are formed in a certain way.
