FIELD: optoelectronic surveillance system.

SUBSTANCE: method for calibrating the distortion of a video channel containing a lens and a matrix image receiver in which the video channel is fixed in front of the collimator, in a parallel beam between the video channel and the collimator lens, an air-reflecting wedge (ARW) is placed, which forms a fan of equidistant collimated beams with an angular distance between adjacent beams equal to twice the wedge angle. On the video channel image receiver, the fan is depicted as a chain of focal spots (CFS). By rotating the video channel or ARW around the axis, the orientation of the CFS in the frame changes sequentially, several frames are shot to evenly fill the field of view of the video channel CFS, after that, to calibrate the video channel, when processing frames, the most probable values of the focal length, pixel coordinates of the axis of the video channel and the distortion coefficients of the third, fifth and seventh order are determined.

EFFECT: providing high-precision measurement of the distortion of video channels while simultaneously determining the position of the optical axis of the video channel and its focal length.
