FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the chemical industry, specifically to the 4-(2,4,5-trichlorophenoxy)phthalonitrile producing method of the below mentioned formula. Method is characterized by the fact that 4-nitrophthalonitrile and 2,4,5-trichlorophenol are dissolved in the DMF, to the obtained solution the K2CO3 solution in water is added and stirred at 100 °C for 3 hours. Obtained precipitate is filtered off, washed with water until pH=7 and dried in air at 70–80 °C. .
EFFECT: proposed method allows to produce the target 4-(2,4,5-trichlorophenoxy)phthalonitrile with a yield of 75 %.
