SUBSTANCE: invention relates to collection of seismic data. Method for automatic assignment of wireless devices for collecting seismic data to topographic locations includes steps of obtaining topographic locations in which the corresponding one of wireless devices for collecting seismic data is expected, obtaining measured positions of wireless devices for collecting seismic data, corresponding or obtained based on information on positions provided by satellite navigation system signal receivers, when wireless devices for collecting seismic data are installed on the ground, each adjacent to one of the topographical locations, and calculating associations, each association between one of the wireless devices for collecting seismic data and the corresponding one of the topographic locations, as a function of comparing the measured positions with the positions of the topographic locations.

EFFECT: technical result is high efficiency of assigning wireless devices for collecting seismic data to topographic locations.
