FIELD: test.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to testing equipment, namely to devices for determination of ultimate strength of brittle and low-strength materials. Essence: a specimen is placed in the body, a cuff is introduced into the sample cavity, by means of which the sample is subjected to hydraulic pressure loading until its destruction, the value of pressure is fixed at the moment of destruction, after which the load is removed and the cuff is removed. Between the housing and the sample, a replaceable insert with a support pad is installed. Sample part of its outer surface is placed on support platform with formation of cavity between remaining part of outer surface of sample and inner surface of insert. After destruction of the sample, cracks formed in it and said cavity are filled with self-curing material which is inert to explosives, after curing of which the sample is withdrawn together with the replaceable insert. Proposed device comprises housing to be fitted inside hollow specimen, loading collar arranged in specimen cavity and communicated with hydraulic pressure source. Device is equipped with a replaceable insert placed between the housing and the sample, at that on the surface of the replaceable insert facing the sample there is a support platform, the geometry of which corresponds to the geometry of part of the external surface of the sample.

EFFECT: technical result is increased safety during testing of large hollow samples from explosives while maintaining functional capabilities of test equipment.
