FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processing of materials and can be used for alloying and hardening of various parts of machines and tools. Method comprises applying an alloying coating and hardening by running a surface layer of the part, carried out simultaneously by running the surface of the part with a roller, installed in a spring-loaded holder, fixed in the tool holder, wherein the part is fixed in the machine spindle to rotate it, and electric current is supplied to the part and the roller. Wherein a roller is used, a coating with alloying elements is previously applied the contact surface of the roller.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is the simplified method of alloying and hardening the surface layer of the part, as well as increased strength characteristics of the part, contributing to an increase in service life and increased reliability under difficult loads.
