FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for projecting an image from a microdisplay onto a scattering screen. Projection optical system with a telecentric beam path in the spaces of objects and images has two lens groups with a positive optical power, between which an aperture diaphragm is mounted. First group consists of a plane-convex lens, a convex-flat lens and a biconvex lens glued with a biconcave lens. Second group consists of a negative meniscus glued with a positive meniscus whose concave surface faces the aperture diaphragm, a positive meniscus whose concave surface faces the aperture diaphragm and a positive meniscus whose convex surface faces the aperture diaphragm. There is a scattering screen and a lighting channel consisting of a polarization prism, a plane-convex lens, a convex-flat lens and a radiation source. For ratios of refraction and optical forces of lenses the ratios specified in the claim are fulfilled.
EFFECT: technical result is reduced length of system, improved manufacturability due to reduced number of used materials.
