FIELD: optoelectronic instrument making.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in projection instrumentation. Varifocal lens includes first I fixed lens group consisting of biconvex lens and a glued lens consisting of a biconvex lens and a concave-flat lens, a second II.1 movable group, a third IV fixed group. Between the second and third groups there is an inclined flat mirror III, which deflects the optical axis by 90°, thereby providing a reduction in the longitudinal dimension of the lens.
EFFECT: providing telecentric path of rays in spaces of object and image at all magnifications with preservation of diffraction quality of optical image and maximum absolute distortion of not more than 0,02%.
