FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and power engineering and can be used in electrical units with asynchronous generators that operate autonomously (without being connected to the electrical network). In the method of controlling an electrical unit with asynchronous generator, pre-charging of exciter forcing capacitors and selection of the moment of connecting required number of capacitors to the generator are carried out.
EFFECT: technical result is an increase in dynamic stability when switching on large loads, increasing voltage stability, reducing duration of transients, eliminating system self-oscillations and improving power quality.
