FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of producing branched polymers. Disclosed is a method of producing a branched polymer containing a (C=C)-(C=C)-CO group, involving mixing at least one monofunctional monomer containing one polymerized carbon-carbon double bond per monomer; at least one multifunctional monomer containing at least two polymerized double carbon-carbon bonds per monomer, and at least one chain transfer agent containing aldehyde or ketone; formation of polymer from mixture by free-radical polymerization reaction and hydrolysis of obtained polymer. Corresponding branched polymer and its use as a dispersant in polymerization of vinyl chloride in suspension are also disclosed.
EFFECT: polymer obtained by the disclosed method enables to control the size of the formed polyvinyl chloride particles and prevents their coagulation without giving the obtained polymer yellowness.
