Disclosed is a method of reducing loss of crop capacity during planting of maize-after-maize, involving use of a composition containing lipochitooligosaccharide to a population of maize plants, maize seeds, soil or combinations thereof, if necessary to reduce loss of crop capacity during planting of maize-after-maize. Cultivation or planting of said population, if necessary, in field. Said population is grown in said field during growing season, which immediately follows at least one planting of maize plants.

EFFECT: method ensures reduction of yield loss during planting of maize-after-maize.
