FIELD: manufacturing technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to structures used in making rotary die plates. Composite base for the rotary die has the shape of a semi-cylinder and consists of several layers. Each layer is made in the form of veneer sheet. Layers are glued together. Two layers have co-directional longitudinal orientation of the fibers. In other layers adjacent layers have mutually perpendicular direction of fibers. Top and bottom layers are coated with polypropylene coating. Pyrolytic carbon-based coating is applied on end ends of composite base.

EFFECT: stability of inner diameter of base is achieved due to change of humidity and ambient temperature, residual stresses are removed, leading to deformation of finished article.
