FIELD: shipbuilding.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to shipbuilding, particularly to means of moderating rolling. Disclosed is a damping device for a structure configured to swing from a first bead to a second (opposite) bead comprising at least one intermediate chamber (17) disposed between the first and second beads, first and second side reservoirs (15a, 15b) communicating with the intermediate chamber (chambers) to allow fluid inlet and outlet, each of which comprises wall (19) defining them from the outside and which are located towards the two ends of the intermediate chamber, wherein each lateral reservoir comprises an upper section configured to receive fluid coming from the intermediate chamber substantially in its longitudinal direction (17a), and lower section, which is connected with upper section, wherein each of upper and lower sections communicates with intermediate chamber (chambers) for inlet and outlet of liquid, and each channel of communication between upper section of corresponding side reservoir and intermediate chamber is arranged so that possibility of inlet of liquid directed by intermediate chamber into said side reservoir, in fact, in tangential direction. Also disclosed is a method for damping said structure.

EFFECT: technical result consists in optimization of process of rocking structure (vessel) restriction, use of working fluid compensating effect of waves and swell to ship for generation of electric energy.
